Posting to add my vote. Having easier to use tab groups would be nice. Tab stacking, accordion, etc., make it more of a hassle than it should be.

Coming from Arc this is also something that seems relatively obvious and that is sorely missing.

I think it should be possible to make some kind of visual box for a tile group to be represented in, in the tab bar. (Yes, this would have to be different for horizontal and vertical tab bars.)

Hi, I typically stack by topic that I currently work on. That could be a single site offer different type of topics to be sort into different stack like youtube or mix with any different domain as long as the topic stays the same.

@mib2berlin There is also another 'indirect' way for this, by choosing the first tab of the stack and clicking on the last one while holding shift key. this selects all tabs of the stack, and then there would be a 'save selected tab as session' option in the tab right-click menu.

@Pesala OK, but it would be much better if this option also worked for already stacked tabs.

@mhmak Select the closed tabs from the stack in the Window Panel, right-click and reopen them.

To make it easier, you may need to disable Settings, Panel, Window:

All in all, everything in Vivaldi is based on these "quick commands". They are simple programming steps.
Maybe they are, but these few simple steps ain't working good at all, hence my distrust.

@gurrra You may have to do some debugging. Maybe Settings, Tabs, New Tab Position is breaking the Quick Command.
Hard to debug something this way when it's only sometimes that it doesn't work.

Correct. Tabs/Urlbar in vivaldi use their own interface, not the chromium one, so these kind of extensions written for chrome will almost always fail.

That should be a practical solution.
I haven't tried it because "Modding Vivaldi" cannot be synchronized and the operation is complicated.

I find some extensions from chrom web store such as this.
It can automatically create groups for tabs according to the domain.
But it also has bugs in Vivaldi.

Maybe the quick commands function can do that for you.
Press F2 or Ctrl-E, then type a part of the tab title, click on the result.
You can arrange the "open tabs" category on top of the list in settings/quick commands to see it first in the list.

@mixyValdi You can stack tiled tabs if you wish. Conversely, you can tile stacked tabs.
